The following benefit plans and programs are available upon employment based on eligibility to postdocs who are funded by the university (funding coming from a faculty advisor or a prestigious fellowship) and are appointed as postdoctoral associates.

The minimum postdoc salary effective July 1, 2022 is $54,835.

Postdocs associates will be assigned to participate in either the contract college health care plan or the endowed college heath care plan.

Cornell Children Tuition Scholarship (CCTS)
The Cornell Children’s Tuition Scholarship awards scholarships to children of eligible employees for study at Cornell and other accredited institutions. It is a benefit provided to the children of eligible Cornell employees who will be or are currently studying toward a degree at Cornell or an undergraduate degree at another institution, accredited by the American Council on Education. Paid Time Off
Post-doctoral associates accrue at the rate of 15 days per year. Vacation must be taken before the termination date of the appointment; vacation cannot extend salary payments beyond the termination of appointment. To view full policy go to page 18 Leave Policy
The university recognizes the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and winter holidays (usually six days between December 25 and January 1). According to the academic calendar, Labor Day is not a holiday for academic employees.

- Extramural Program (Cornell Academic Courses) are available to postdocs who may enroll in up to four credit hours per semester in Cornell academic courses tuition-free to help improve their job performance and assist in their career and personal development. Postdocs are eligible upon employment with approval of their supervisor and department head. To register, visit Extramural Studies.
Cornell Travel Registry
Cornell provides a free assistance program to all students, faculty, and staff traveling on university business 50 miles or more away from campus. Cornell’s vendor, UHC Global Assistance (formerly FrontierMEDEX), provides emergency evacuation assistance, medical referrals worldwide, and travel assistance in emergency situations. We encourage you to visit Cornell’s Travel Assistance website to print a Global Assistance card with Cornell’s UHC ID# so that you can more quickly access health, safety, and security services should you need them while on In Absentia status. Further, more information about staying safe abroad and using Cornell’s Travel Registry website can be found on the Travel Registry webpage.
