NCFDD

Postdocs can access online webinars offered through NCFDD, a professional development, training, and mentoring organization to support faculty success. Individual NCFDD memberships are available for free to all Cornell community members as a benefit of Cornell’s Institutional membership. Resources provided by the NCFDD include 14-Day Writing ChallengesMonday MotivatorsGuest Expert Webinars, and more.

Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL)

CIRTL is a North American future faculty preparation effort with branches at more than 40 universities, including Cornell University. Participate in webinars, courses, and institutes on the academic job search, diversity in the college classroom, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), , teaching, and research mentoring, and more. Available to all Cornell postdocs and recent Cornell postdocs.

Academic Job Search

Current postdocs preparing application materials for tenure-track academic positions may book an appointment with the Director of Postdoctoral Affairs.

Postdocs interested in exploring or pursuing academic career paths may find programs offered by the Graduate School through Future Faculty and Academic Careers and the Office of Inclusion and Student Engagement to be helpful:

Nonacademic Job Search

The Career Development Toolkit covers a wide range of topics from self-assessment and identifying job opportunities to strategies in networking and preparing resumes. Each module consists of a series of ordered pages with built-in interactive activities. Provided by the Graduate School.

The Careers Beyond Academia LibGuide offers a bank of resources for job searches in various career paths.

The Cornell Career Development Network website also provides useful resources. Note that postdocs are not eligible for individual consultations with Cornell Career Services. For an individual consultation, book an appointment with the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
